There comes a time when we need to make the leap and expand how we share yoga with the world. And yet, the general guidelines offered in a yoga teacher training don’t quite speak to exactly who you are and what your exact expression will be. I am here to help.
This mentorship will be a deep dive into your relationship with yoga and how to best share it with others. We will work together, in an intimate one-on-one context, to hone your craft and see the highest vision for you as a yoga teacher. This journey will then lay the groundwork and compel you to embark on that journey; setting you on the direction in which you will most thrive. Although each road map will be unique, here is what you can expect if you choose to work with me…
Uncovering Self.
Stepping into the role of a teacher isn’t just a job, it is a path of purpose and integrity. We cannot transmit something that we haven’t learned to embody ourselves. The first stage of our mentorship will be to take a look at the path you are on. Everything that you’ve done in your life and are currently doing make you a unique vessel through which to share the lessons of yoga. There are people who will resonate and connect with your experience. We just have to figure out exactly what makes you special.
Expanding knowledge.
Through this discovery process we may find some gaps in your understanding. Although you need not be a master to share the path of yoga, we will address any areas where your teacher training did not quite fully prepare you. Teaching is a complex weave of theory, practical knowledge and spiritual ceremony. There is always more to learn and we can figure out exactly where your valuable time will be best spent. There are many classical texts, new methods and practical lessons of which every teacher should have a basic understanding.
Finding your voice.
The first few years of teaching usually rely heavily on imitation. We start by teaching how we’ve been taught. Thus, early in our career, the yoga classes that we lead are very similar if not identical to that of our teachers. That is common in every discipline. But to truly come into our role, we must find our own voice. The heart of this mentorship will rest upon the act of finding that unique expression. In my 25 years of spending time in the yoga world, I’ve seen many teachers try to become something that they aren’t; someone that they think they need to be in order to be heard. That is not the case. The best version of you as a teacher is already inside of you. We are going to bring it out and develop the confidence to share it with the world.
Into action.
Once we have uncovered your truth, we will put together a plan of actionable steps in order for you to manifest the teaching career that you’ve always desired. Maybe your path is going to be teaching on camera; we will make you shine. Maybe it’s filling classes at your yoga studio; we will hone that skill. Maybe our work together will be finding more private clients and building community. I have seen it all and will help you become the absolute best at what you do.
The mentorship.
This is an extremely personalized process and thus I will be accepting no more than four people under my tutelage at a time. The 3 month container requires a $4495 financial commitment and will include
10 one hour calls with me
Feedback and collaboration on your teaching (sequences, playlists, etc.)
Unlimited correspondence with me via text and voice notes through a dedicated WhatsApp channel
Free access to all of my live online classes through YogaWorks and, if you are in Los Angeles, to my in-person classes at the studio.
Refinement of your online presentation (website, social media, emails, etc.)
